Lone Warrior is a dynamic and growing foundation, eager to welcome dedicated and driven individuals committed to our mission. We are blessed with a wonderful leadership team, and due to our significant growth and the increasing number of recipients, we are expanding our leadership team, administrative volunteers, and general volunteers.
We are looking to expand both our Executive Board of Directors and our Board of Directors. We seek individuals who resonate with our mission to support single parents with cancer and their families. Our current Board members are actively involved in supporting our recipients.
Current Opportunities:
Treasurer: We are looking for someone with non-profit accounting and tax experience.
Executive Secretary: We need an individual with experience in non-profit management and administrative skills.
Additionally, we urgently need administrative support volunteers to meet the heightened demand for our foundation’s services. Below, you will find brief descriptions of these roles.

Administrative Assistant to Founder
As the right hand of the Founder, this individual will work closely with the Founder, assisting with various administrative tasks. This part-time position (20 to 30 hours per week) includes:
Managing the home office.
Handling communication and coordination, including oversight of other administrative roles.
Interacting with the Board of Directors and attending Board meetings.
Managing administrative and coordination responsibilities for foundation events.
This role is expected to evolve into a compensated position over time.
Assistant to the Vice Chairman
This individual will work closely with the Vice Chairman, who oversees and manages the recipient side of the foundation. This role is one of the most emotionally fulfilling and rewarding positions within Lone Warrior. It is a part-time position (20 to 30 hours per week) that involves:
Collaborating with the Vice Chairman on screening and administrative responsibilities.
Assisting in the initiation of recipients and their families into the Lone Warrior family.
This role is expected to evolve into a compensated position over time.
Volunteer Coordinator
We are seeking a people-oriented individual for the role of Volunteer Coordinator. This matriarchal management position involves working closely with the management team and the Vice Chairman to develop a support platform for bi-annual events, pop-ups, and recipient support. This role is crucial for maintaining the internal health of the foundation and fostering strong relationships between the foundation, recipients, and their families.
Key responsibilities include:
Community networking and building synergies with our sponsors and sister foundations.
Ensuring clear and consistent communication with the Church of 1122.
Committing an average of 20 to 30 hours per week.
This position is vital for the smooth operation of the foundation and the well-being of our community.
Fundraiser
The Fundraiser will work closely with the Founder and the Board of Directors to identify and secure funding opportunities. Key responsibilities include:
Pursuing donations from corporate entities, small businesses, and individual contributors.
Establishing sponsorships and partnerships with both private and public organizations.
Acquiring and managing silent auction items for bi-annual events and periodic pop-ups.
This role offers flexible hours, with the potential to evolve into a Board member position based on performance and results.
Marketing and Media Developer
The Marketing and Media Developer will report to the Founder and collaborate closely with the Fundraiser to enhance community awareness and support. Key responsibilities include:
Prioritizing and managing the foundation’s social media presence across multiple platforms.
Potentially managing an intern from a local educational institution.
Creating a synergistic relationship with the Fundraiser to maximize the impact of bi-annual fundraisers and periodic pop-up events.
This role offers completely flexible hours, with performance-based expectations for significant results.
Grant Writer
The Grant Writer will report to the Founder and focus on pursuing grant opportunities within the Jacksonville community, throughout Florida, and on a national level. We prefer candidates with some prior experience in grant writing. This role offers completely flexible hours, with performance-based expectations for achieving significant results.
IT Administrator
The IT Administrator will manage the foundations Microsoft 365 tenant, Squarspace website and media platform for. All training for these platforms will be provided and is an excellent opportunity for industry IT professionals or tech savvy individuals to volunteer for a great cause.
